The dragon blood trees in Socotra are endemic to the island and they take dozens of years to grow full-size. There are also many aloe plants around the island, you can see one in this image's foreground. The connection between us, humans, nature and space is the focus of this image.

This is an image of the Aurora (Northern Lights) over Derwentwater in The Lake District which I was thrilled to capture on my second night of trying at this location.

On the night of the peak of the Geminid meteor shower I was on La Palma. I always wanted to see this spectacle under the best possible conditions and since the peak falls on December 15, you can assume that the weather in Central Europe is very bad. So I went there and I witnessed an amazing show!

I took this photo on a new year’s trip to finish Lapland. I put the camera on a tripod to capture a timelapse and went back to my friends. We had a BBQ in the hut in the picture, some beers, and just marveled at the stunning aurora borealis dancing in the sky. What a perfect way to end the year.
